Taste of the Reindeer Herder´s Day

- Feeding the reindeer is an experience -

Come and experience a moment of my life as a Sámi reindeer herder. Snuggle into the sledge of the snowmobile and join me to feed my reindeer in the wild nature. The journey will start at my home. At the feeding station You have a possibility to enjoy the closeness of the animals. Surrounded by the reindeer You may sit down to enjoy a fresh coffee brewed traditionally on an open fire.

The feeding station offers an excellent opportunity to both observe and photograph the reindeer in their natural environment. The reindeer behave calmly and some may even venture close enough to be hand fed. These are one of the greatest moments with the reindeer - the animals showing complete trust in people.

During the visit you will learn facts about the reindeer herding , sámi culture and a life style in Lapland.

Program is available during the winter herding season, approximately from the beginning of December till the end of April.

The price includes coffee or tea and a bakery.

Reservation required at least the previous day.

Enjoy a cup of coffee in the middle of the reindeer

Surrounded by the reindeer you may sit down to enjoy a warm cup of tea or a fresh coffee brewed traditionally on an open fire.

During the Taste of the Reindeer Herder´s Day -program we treat you with a traditional home made bakery.

When you book the visit, Please, let us know, if you have any special diets.

Beginning of a New Life

- Feel the harmony of the reindeer calving season -

The new reindeer calves are being born in May. Then I keep the females on a special area as long as they have given birth. I earmark the newborns with my earmark, but at the same time it is a touching moment to feel the beginning of a new life - would you like to join me to experience this in the spring of Lapland?

We will start the journey at my home. This adventure is a whole day trip. We may agree about the schedule when you book the visit. The weather conditions of the spring rule how we get to the calving area - sometimes we need to walk, sometimes it is possible to get there with some terrain vehicle.

During the visit you will learn facts about the reindeer herding , Sámi culture and a life style in Lapland.

Program is available 10.5. - 20.5.

The price includes coffee and light lunch.

Tepee is my home during the calving season

In May I live in my comfortable tepee. You get to experience it as it shelters You as my guest.

During the Beginning of a New Life -program we treat you with a

coffee, traditional home made bakery and a light lunch in a tepee.
